For nearly a decade, GWT has participated year-in and year-out at the MD&M West Trade Show, located at the Anaheim Convention Center. GWT takes the unique approach of manning its booth with hands-on professionals like Gene Agron, Sales Development, Derek Bannon, our company�s Quality Manager, Mike Kutzle, Purchasing Manager, and Russell Rieth, our current President. We were enthusiastically displaying PCBAs and assemblies from our very own customer markets like medical, aerospace and industrial as well as speaking to industry professionals and contacts at this well attended trade show. In an effort to improve and continually produce safe and reliable products, Golden West Technology is now certified per the IEC/TC 62239-1 Specifications for Part 1: Preparation and maintenance of an Electronic Component Management Plan (ECMP) � Process Management for Avionics. At the heart of the plan is the SAE AS5553 Rev. A – Aerospace Standard for Fraudulent/Counterfeit Electronics Parts; Avoidance, Detection, Mitigation and Disposition. This standard was created in response to the growing concern of increasing volume of counterfeit electronic parts entering the aerospace supply chain. In addition to adopting the overall plan, GWT has implemented the proper procedures and practices to address procurement, inspection, risk mitigation and acceptable public reporting of counterfeit components.

Golden West Technology opened for business back in 1974 serving just one customer in the beginning. Now 40 years later, we serve multiple industries like the medical, industrial and aerospace markets and well over 20 active customers. GWT has been very successful developing long-term relationships with our customers�22 with our largest industrial customer, almost 15 with our largest medical company, and 7 years with our largest aerospace customer.

Golden West Technology has installed a DI water system that now complements our traditional RO-based water system. In addition, a batch cleaner and a cleanliness tester are in place to insure that PCBAs meet the rigorous cleanliness standards put forth by the aerospace and military industries.

GWT attends Nadcap, the global cooperative standards-setting program for aerospace, defense and related industries, for the first time. The four day conference from Feb 16-20 was held in Dallas, TX, and GWT sent two associates to participate and get introduced to the organization. Riki Brown and Dick Fryhoff were assigned to the Electronics group and participated in information sessions, training, and various breakout sessions discussing future policy and direction.
