GWT has done it again! We successfully navigated through a rigorous 4-day audit event with our quality partner NSF-ISR. It was particularly gratifying because it was our 20 year Anniversary of having a successful quality system in place. This year’s audit by our registrar NSF-ISR was very challenging because it was a 4-day start of the contract audit that tests all facets of the organization. At the beginning of our 20 year span, GWT saw an organic process of originating the system in home grown fashion with the help of CMTC and then adapting frequently over the two decade period. Just in the last few years, we have come full circle with a total & fresh renovation of the system to achieve a Quality Manual that is realigned closely with the newest ISO-9001 and AS9100 standards issued in 2015 & 2016.

This year’s audit by our registrar NSF-ISR was particularly challenging for a number of reasons… the first one being that GWT had to comply with the latest ISO and AS91OO standard upgrades that take us to 2015 and 2016 respectively. Secondly, over the past 19 years of compliance, our original Quality Manual’s organization and configuration needed to be updated to totally match the most current standards. Not only did we pass the audit with flying colors but we also have a brand new Quality Manual that has a realigned and reformatted, fresh look that is easier to use and apply. Huge thanks to Derek Bannon, our Quality Manager, for successfully navigating us through this process.

Golden West Technology has successfully passed its 3-day, maintenance audit with NSF-ISR; and therefore is free to continue on with what�s left of the 3 year registration term in compliance with rigorous standards�ISO-9001 and AS9100. The work doesn�t stop as GWT will be upgrading the quality system to AS9100 rev D by next year.

With ROHS2 requirements kicking in for medical customers in Europe this year, Golden West Technology is responding with suitable programs to comply and excel in an ever demanding environment. GWT has one major medical customer already conducting a full product transition and we have the proper procedures and mechanisms in place to comply with a knowledgeable purchasing office, a reliable material certification collection system, and a strong team to address more demanding audit visits to come.
