In an effort to improve and continually produce safe and reliable products, Golden West Technology is now certified per the IEC/TC 62239-1 Specifications for Part 1: Preparation and maintenance of an Electronic Component Management Plan (ECMP) � Process Management for Avionics. At the heart of the plan is the SAE AS5553 Rev. A – Aerospace Standard for Fraudulent/Counterfeit Electronics Parts; Avoidance, Detection, Mitigation and Disposition. This standard was created in response to the growing concern of increasing volume of counterfeit electronic parts entering the aerospace supply chain. In addition to adopting the overall plan, GWT has implemented the proper procedures and practices to address procurement, inspection, risk mitigation and acceptable public reporting of counterfeit components.

Golden West Technology opened for business back in 1974 serving just one customer in the beginning. Now 40 years later, we serve multiple industries like the medical, industrial and aerospace markets and well over 20 active customers. GWT has been very successful developing long-term relationships with our customers�22 with our largest industrial customer, almost 15 with our largest medical company, and 7 years with our largest aerospace customer.

Derek Bannon, who recently joined the Company as a Quality Manager, has completed the rigorous, 5 day training course with a local vendor… and is now fully qualified to administer internal workmanship training at GWT. GWT employees currently undergo an internal training program for IPC�610 revision E workmanship training.

GWT has successfully passed a rigorous four day audit of its AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality program and has renewed their three year contract with NSF-ISR. Every six months, NSF-ISR will be visiting the plant to conduct a one day regularly scheduled surveillance audit to ensure that GWT�s quality system is operating effectively and as documented.
